Simon Takes a Dive
Gislebertus - Autun Cathedral -12th century |
Who is this mysterious figure who has lurked on the threshold
of the Christian Church from its very beginnings? First mentioned in the Book of
Acts, Simon Magus, the Samaritan Sorcerer, was labelled Father of Heresy by the early Church
Fathers, until the sin named for him, the sin of selling
a Stairway to Heaven, so corrupted that same Church that millions turned from it
in disgust. The early accounts of his theological innovations were considered
mad fantasies until they were rediscovered at Nag Hammadi, and the Gnostic
revelations he pioneered revealed for all to marvel at. According to
legend, he declared himself God, flew above Rome before the Emperor Nero
and fell to ignominious defeat, but Simon's own account of his epic struggle
with the Saints, and with the Creator Itself, has never before been
revealed.
Until now! The actual and personal memoirs of the original Magus have been rediscovered
(do not ask how) by me, Glen Cram,
who is even now reconstructing them and will soon bring them to an eager
world after 2 millennia!
- What cosmic horror did Simon encounter in darkest Aigyptia?
- How did he meet the Goddess who became his Holy Wisdom, and what
became of Her?
- What is the truth behind his wild night with the Apostle
Paul?
- What of the Arkadian Werewolf?
- And did those feet...?
From Judaea to
Alexandria, from Antioch to Albion, from Roma to That Other Place, these and many other
secrets will
be revealed in
The Acts of Simon Magus
I'm still struggling with some of the more arcane passages (he can be
rather obscure at times!), but I hope to have the whole Work completed soon.
